Luxury Residences With An Ocean View

Blue World Voyages, billing itself as the “world’s first sports, fitness and wellness-focused” cruise line recently joined forces with Compass Florida, the luxury brokerage firm to market 40 luxury residences on its 720-foot inaugural ship. Each cruise on this custom redesigned ship can accommodate 425 cruise passengers and 100 residents.

What well-heeled residence owners are buying is a purchase agreement that includes a 25-year right of use for owners.  “That’s about the lifespan of a vessel like this,” explains Gene Meehan, founder & chairman of Blue World Voyages. Meehan along with Fredy Dellis, co-founder, and acting CEO are currently working with Seabury Maritime, a New York-based investment banking firm and subsidiary of Seabury Corporate Finance on funding.

The owner residences start at $2.4 million to $3.4million. They range in size from 850 square feet for a one-bedroom to 1,200 square feet for the two-bedroom units. Of course, amenities are five-star including private butler service, concierge and the Owners Club private lounge and bar.  ”On the passenger side, our strategy is to work with strategic luxury media companies with solid demographics that match our buyer profile. We are creating interest lists based on people who want active travel experiences,” said Dellis.

“We have a registration program launched 60 days ago and will be opening up sales between 60 to 90 days from now,” said Meehan. “We think offering the owners inclusion in the Blue World Voyages Rental Program is important. If an owner puts their residence in our rental program for 23 weeks annually they can cover up to 100% of their annual maintenance costs with that revenue stream,” Meehan observes.

Since Sports and Fitness is the selling sweet spot, an entire deck will house training gym, bike fitting station, batting cages, golf simulators, spinning, TRX studios, an onboard Hank Haney Golf School and a sea-water lap pool.  A five-star spa and wellness amenities are on another deck. Dining is focusing on farm-to-table cuisine.

Blue World Voyages are going for that exclusive feel with a smaller sized ship able to sail into active adventure-based ports of call where larger ships can’t go. A Blue World port of call must offer unusual hiking, bicycling, water sports , “world-class” golf experience, and very cool cultural activities.

Beth Butler, Compass’ Florida director of new development-Southeast is handling marketing and sales on the 40 residences, “This is for people that love to cruise the world, own multiple homes and want more active destinations than just sightseeing,” Butler notes. “The specific emphasis on physical activity and wellness adds much more to the experience of cruising and owning a truly luxury residence,” she adds.

This is an experience for those looking for something above and beyond in the next residence they acquire.
